This symbol symbolizes the co-existence and tolerance for all living things, growth, smoothness and harmony in associating with others and doing things.。

The symbols of water and fire from the same source are “the flowing wrinkles, gesture of rhyme, reflect the stability of all living things; which describe the flame, the power of roaring, representing the supremacy of life” along with sphere body and pedestal of Tianyuan; meaning that human beings are easygoing and follow along with their emotions but know where the boundaries are and won't cross these boundaries, reaching the boundary of men and the heaven as one. (Re.: Water and fire from the same source is the unique natural podium view of the Kuantsuling in Baihe Township Tainan County, famous near and far, located at the foot of the mountain. Rocks randomly protrude from the mountainside and fire eternally emerges from amidst the water.

The camphor tree is not only of excellent quality but is also an excellent material which can be used for construction, furniture, naval vessels, water millers, agricultural tools, carvings, decorations and stamps along with refining camphor oil. The crown of the tree is very dense and its overall posture is grand and magnificent. This tree adapts to its environment very well. All these depict the simple folk customs and spirit of hard working and diligence of the county residents. 。

The camphor tree originates from the Asian tropics and is distributed through out the provinces in the south of Changjian (in Mainland China).  The mountains and flat lands in the north of Taiwan are located at 1200 meters below sea level in the south of Taiwan at 1800 meters below sea level are filled with green trees. The whole tree diffuses fragrance and the trunk skin has deep vertical cracks.  The leaves uniformly grow in oval shape or ogival shape which is like leather quality; the front tip is pointed in shape which is the leaf apex, smooth with out hair; the leaf has three midribs with glands that are under the axil.  The leaf blade has a wave like texture across its surface. The flower is the panicle growing at the axil. The fruit is green and white in color luscious appearance in shape. The fruit is green in color before it is ripe and then turns purple black. Bird flocks are attracted to this fruit when it is ripe. The tree-crown is big, naturally stretching in a wave-circular shape; changing leaves every Feb., the new sprouts are green and beautiful and leaves are luxuriant all-year round. They are capable of shadowing and cooling and absorbing dust and noise; needs medium light, the baby tree prefers half shade and the adult tree prefers sunray, it has a great resistance to harmful gases, ambidextrous enough to be walkway tree in the city; when aging, the tree posture stays majestic and powerful.  When aged, it brings the feelings of ancient path and trees.

In order to promote reforestation in this county to beautify the living environment, even though the selected flower is quite tiny, when in blossom, the fragrance is rich and give the air of refined gentlemen. It has been a very popular plant to grow since times of old and it matches with our civil folk nature of simplicity and simple life style----Sweet osmanthus.。

The Sweet osmanthus originated in the southwest of Mainland China and currently it is planted in many locations through out Taiwan. This plant comes from the ever-green shrub of arbor. Its leaves are oval shape or long with oval draping needles 5-10 cm. in length. All around the leaves are leather quality, while young has saw like teeth with net veins on its rear surface. The leaf apex is usually pointed or slightly pointed and the stipule is wedge-shaped. The flowers has white pedals ( a variation of orange yellow or yellow white colors), it has a strong fragrant smell, calyx has four cracks, the pedal cracks all the way down to the stipule and the crack piece are long oval shaped.  The nuts are around 1cm long, being blue in color.  The wood is gray white, of dense quality, solid and tenacious, which can be used to make all sorts of small tools. This type of plant is primarily just for appreciating and the flowers can be the vegetable seeds or food seasonings.  It was said that eating the Sweet osmanthus for a prolonged period will have the function of decongestant and moisturizer for the throat.
