Minutes of Tainan City Government’s 499h Municipal Administrative Meeting Mayor’s remarks 7/12/2021

Mayor’s Remarks:
1.    The leve 3 alert will gradually ease starting tomorrow (13th). I ask all departments to review their respective duties and come to a consensus with businesses without violating the central government’s regulations. Please stipulate administrative guidelines for Tainan City and minimize pushback. The adjustment period of the level-3 alert is between July 13 and July 26. Even if the level-3 alert is lifted after July 26, life is still not back to normal. Although certain pandemic prevention measures may be eased, we must remain vigilant in preventing further outbreaks. Increasing the vaccination percentage offers protection against severe symptoms while preventing the spread of COVID-19l, however, no vaccine is 100% effective. Because of this, everyone should continue to practice pandemic prevention measures.
2.    Tainan’s vaccine registration system on LINE will be transferred to a central vaccination appointment system on July 16 (Friday). The first wave of registrations for state-sponsored COVID-19 vaccines ended at 5:00 PM today (12th). Only those who have made a reservation can get vaccinated. I ask all departments to contact civil groups and volunteer organizations and encourage members of the public who qualify for the vaccines to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
3.    There was an overproduction of mangoes this year. On top of that, many factors such as logistics and the closing of Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation has resulted in less than ideal prices and sales this year. I would like to thank Minister Chen of the Council of Agriculture for purchasing off-grade produce after his visit to Tainan. I would also like to thank all colleagues for their hard work. Because of these efforts, Tainan’s mango prices have risen this year despite many unfavorable factors. I hope that this year’s mango harvest and sales go smoothly, and again, I thank everyone for their excellent work.
