Mayor’s remarks:
1. Since Double Tenth Day and the extended weekend, the municipal government has held a number of large events. Many activities and events were canceled or postponed in the first half of the year due to Level 3 lockdown, such as the Tainan Historical Capital International Half Marathon and Taiwan International Orchid Show. Some events have been deferred to the second half of this year. I ask that event organizers ensure that epidemic prevention and traffic alleviation measures are properly implemented. We must work together to maximize attendance and business opportunities while minimizing garbage. I thank our colleagues in the Police Bureau and Environmental Protection Bureau for their hard work.
2. Tainan produces many agricultural products annually. I ask that the Agricultural Bureau establish effective marketing strategies and distribution channels that target different customer groups to increase farmer profitability. I ask the Agricultural Bureau to continue strengthening domestic distribution channels while actively looking for new markets.

(1) The city government helps to improve the lives, well-being, and livelihoods of its citizens in several ways. First, we strive to secure corporate investments in Tainan, which translates to more job opportunities. Second, we match investors with the right vendors. Matchmaking allows companies to find a suitable location to expand their business; vendors to receive compensation for their expertise; and workers to secure employment, income, resources needed to lead a comfortable life in Tainan.
(2) The large-scale job fairs achieved outstanding employment matchmaking rates. The first event achieved roughly 60%, and the second achieved roughly 50%, for an overall matchmaking rate of 56%. I ask the Labor Affairs Bureau to continue organizing job fairs to help people interested in working in the service industry find employment in Mitsui Outlet Park, catering, and hospitality.

(1) The "General Roar" Tainan Summer Musical Festival is entering its tenth year. The event has already established a distinct brand and process. Following relevant epidemic prevention regulations, the number of attendees will be limited this year. I ask the Tourism Bureau to formulate a comprehensive entry and exit plan.
(2) I also ask that Tourism Bureau introduce promotional events, such as packaged deals, coupons, or shopping discounts to extend and expand the profitability of the two-day event. There will be a parent-child carnival at the western plaza of the city government building during the day on October 23, not to mention other industry festivals, such as the Water Chestnut Festival in Guantian District, Edamame Festival in Xinshi District, and Milk Festival in Liuying District. I recommend combining the industry events held by district agricultural associations and the "General Roar" Tainan Summer Musical Festival to maximize event exposure and benefits.
