Tainan City Government Announces Three Disease Prevention and Control Measures Targeted at Southern Science Park Companies and Issues Guidelines for Companies to Administer Rapid Tests (2021/06/07)

In response to recent cluster infection cases in factories in other cities and countries, the Tainan City government, in line with regulations announced by the Ministry of Labor, has put forth the three following measures to strengthen pandemic prevention and control in the Southern Science Park. All businesses in the southern science park must fully comply to ensure operation safety:

  1. Sanitize and disinfect all factories, dormitories, and restaurant; implement strict flow control bundling and separation.
  2. Hold off transferring and dispatching migrant workers to minimize personnel mobility.
  3. Strengthen the management of rapid testing and screening among science park companies.

For companies who want to administer Antigen test (frequently referred to as a rapid test) for employees, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Employers are responsible for the cost and for administering the test.
  2. The test must be performed by medical professionals; if needed, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) can assist in introducing professionals and resources.
  3. If the test shows positive result, the employer must immediately notify the CECC and conduct PCR testing; the company must allocate a designated area for quarantine and isolation.
  4. If the test shows negative result, please practice self-health monitoring.

For more information about holding antigen tests in your companies, please contact the Industry Competitiveness Development Center of the Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA (please call 0800-000257).
