Tainan City Government

On July 22, Tainan City Government announced that public and private kindergartens and after-school childcare centers in Tainan City will be opened under certain conditions, so as to keep balance between parents’ childcare demands and disease prevention and control. Such institutions can reopen from July 27, provided that following supportive measures are carried out. These supportive measures will be flexibly adjusted according to regulations announced by the Central Epidemic Control Center and the epidemic situation of Tainan City.

1. Teachers in the classrooms shall be vaccinated. Those who have not yet finished the vaccination shall conduct a COVID-19 rapid screening once every three days.
2. Both teachers and students shall meet basic disease prevention and control requirements, including measuring body temperature, maintaining hand hygiene, wearing a face mask, keeping social distance, implementing daily self-health management; never coming to class or work when feeling ill or fever. 
3. Staff members (bus monitors, those who are responsible for dishing out food or who will be in touch with people outside the institution) shall not only wear a face mask but also a face shield and gloves.
4. Teaching shall be arranged in splitting classes. Mix classes and outdoor teaching are prohibited.
5. Enclosed spaces, outdoor play sets and facilities with virus transmission risks shall not be opened.
6. Table shields shall be set in indoor dining spaces. Keep distance when eating meals.
7. People outside the institution can enter the venue only after getting permission and shall abide by regulations such as undertaking contact-information-based measures, measuring body temperature, wearing a face mask, using alcohol for hand sanitation, keeping social distance and avoiding contact with kids.
8. Strengthen daily sanitation and disinfection for school bus, indoor & outdoor areas and restrooms.
9. The institution shall terminate for two weeks as long as any one of teachers and students is confirmed as a COVID-19 case; it will terminate one day for sanitation and disinfection when any one of teachers and students is identified as a contact of the confirmed case.
