Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-che announced that the Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Tainan will take place between February 20 and 22, 2026, at Tainan Metropolitan Park. This highly anticipated global event will welcome Trainers from around the world to experience adventures inspired by the Kalos region, featuring three themed AR habitats, the world debut of Shiny Diancie, several Shiny Pokémons, and a variety of exclusive Timed Research tasks and Raid rewards. The event will also unveil the very first nighttime celebration, “Mega Night.”
According to the official website, attendees with tickets will have the opportunity to meet the first-ever Shiny Diancie or special Pikachu wearing Calem’s or Serena’s hat during the three-day event.
Tainan Metropolitan Park will debut three themed AR habitats: Central Village, Coastal Laboratory, and Mountain Manor. Trainers can choose their preferred starting habitat after purchasing tickets. Exclusive PokéStops with different trims for Furfrou, the Poodle Pokémon, will be scattered throughout the park, allowing Trainers to change Furfrou’s appearance and conduct Timed Research. Trainers need to complete the actions before 17:00 (local Taiwan time) on the day. Usually, Furfrou can only change its trim in certain areas around the world, or during special events, so take this opportunity to try out lots of new looks!
Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau Director Lin Guo-hua added that the very first Mega Night nighttime event will also be presented in this edition, allowing Trainers to continue catching Pokémon after dark in a one-of-a-kind sensory experience designed by the organizers.
Beyond the main venue, additional citywide gameplay will be available throughout Tainan during the event period. With the purchase of Citywide Gameplay Add-Ons, attendees can extend their stay for up to two days to enjoy the “GO Tour” in downtown Tainan! Trainers can experience the rich local history and delicious cuisine as they explore this charming city. Visitors are encouraged to plan at least a three-day, two-night stay to fully experience the Pokémon GO Tour and catch them all.
