2026 Taiwan Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand Lists 30 Tainan Eateries, Adding Lamb Dishes, Fresh Fish Home Cooking, and Winter Vegetable Duck

The internationally renowned MICHELIN Guide has announced its 2026 Bib Gourmand list. Tainan has 30 eateries on the list this year, with three new additions: BAA Wanli Mutton Restaurant, Chan-Chi, and Zhuzi Winter Vegetable Duck. From lamb dishes and home-style fresh fish to traditional winter vegetable duck, the selection highlights Tainan’s rich and diverse food culture and once again earns recognition from international culinary experts. Visitors from Taiwan and abroad are warmly invited to follow the MICHELIN Guide and plan a food tour of Tainan to experience the diverse culinary charm of the historic city.

Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che said that Tainan has a deep historical heritage and a rich food culture. From street snacks and traditional Tainan cuisine to specialty dishes, the city’s diverse dining scene has helped shape its brand as the Food Capital. This year, 30 eateries received Bib Gourmand recognition, including three new additions, showing that Tainan’s food scene continues to cultivate new local flavors and is again being recognized by global culinary judges. Visitors from Taiwan and abroad are welcome to explore Tainan’s 37 districts and discover more hidden culinary gems and local specialties.

Director Lin Guo-hua of the Tourism Bureau said that this year’s three new Bib Gourmand restaurants were recognized for their lamb dishes, home-style fresh fish dishes, and traditional winter vegetable duck, respectively, demonstrating Tainan’s diverse and deep-rooted food culture. In addition to this year’s new additions, many existing award-winning restaurants have continued to receive Bib Gourmand recognition from the MICHELIN Guide. From long-established Taiwanese restaurants and beloved local street food to a wide variety of dishes showcasing Tainan’s local ingredients, each has its own distinctive character. This not only reflects the diverse facets of Tainan’s food scene, combining tradition and innovation, but also shows the long-term commitment of local businesses to preserving regional flavors and maintaining culinary quality. Notably, all three new additions had previously appeared in the MICHELIN Guide’s monthly New Additions list, and their new Bib Gourmand recognition has added another highlight to Tainan’s food map.

According to the Tourism Bureau, Tainan’s cuisine combines history, culture, local warmth, and diversity. From alley snacks and Taiwanese dishes to specialty restaurants, there is something for every visitor.
