As part of its effort to promote Tainan’s agricultural products globally, Tainan Deputy Mayor Yeh Tse-shan led a delegation to Fine Food Australia 2026. The visit aimed to expand markets for local goods through international exhibitions, product promotions, sales channel visits, and business exchanges. The City Government held a press conference to share the results of its overseas market development efforts upon the delegation’s return. Exhibitors projected that subsequent orders and business opportunities would exceed NT$100 million, demonstrating the strong potential of Tainan’s high-quality agricultural and food products in the Australian market.
Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che remarked that this was the third consecutive year that Tainan had participated in Fine Food Australia. This visit to Melbourne generated numerous business opportunities, and the total value of orders received would exceed NT$100 million. Members of the Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Oceania (TCCO) also attended the press conference, giving Taiwanese businesses based in Australia an opportunity to learn more about Tainan’s high-quality produce and processed foods. Through this network of Taiwanese businesses and local sales channels, Tainan hopes to expand the reach of its high-quality products beyond overseas Taiwanese businesses and eventually enter the local mainstream consumer market.
The mayor said that recent overseas market development efforts have shown that Tainan’s high-quality agricultural and processed food products have strong potential in global markets. The Tainan City Government continues to develop the Australian and American markets while maintaining its presence in the Asian market. It is working with local producers and businesses to adjust products and marketing strategies to meet the needs of different consumer groups, allowing more international consumers to access Tainan’s products.
According to the Tainan City Agriculture Bureau, the delegation to Fine Food Australia 2026 included local companies such as Super Matou Farm, Lyu Yuan Pasture Co., Miin Jiang Industrial Co., Duo Li Duo Foods Corporation, and Kua Kua Yuan Enterprise Co. (K.K. Orchard). Exhibitors showcased tea drinks, fruit juices, dried fruit products, Guanmiao noodles, and processed sweet potato products, and actively engaged with local food-service, retail, and import operators. These exchanges showcased Tainan’s wide range of processed agricultural goods and created opportunities for subsequent cooperation and entry into the retail market.
The Agriculture Bureau also pointed out that this trip to Fine Food Australia 2026 was a comprehensive overseas market development effort that connected consumer promotion, business matching, and actual sales. The entire mission included the UQ Taiwan Night Market event in Brisbane, Fine Food Australia in Melbourne, and a press conference in Tainan where products were displayed to TCCO members and pre-orders were accepted. The Tainan City Government will continue to monitor orders and business matchmaking results, and assist businesses in strengthening their overseas sales channels to bring more high-quality Tainan agricultural and food products to the world.
