Mayor’s remarks:
1. This week, we have a make-up day for the Mid-Autumn Festival long weekend. All bureau and departments are asked to keep up the excellent work in their municipal administration and epidemic prevention efforts. Moving forward, daily COVID-19 press conferences will run from Monday to Friday. We will no longer hold press conferences on weekends or national holidays. Nonetheless, our epidemic prevention efforts must persist. I ask relevant bureaus and departments to continue their efforts in this regard. We will be administrating the Pfizer vaccine shortly. The Bureau of Education is requested to complete the collection of consent forms as soon as possible to ensure the smooth commencement of the vaccination stage.
2. I ask that the Agricultural Bureau strengthen African swine fever inspections and strive to diversify our distribution channels for agricultural goods.
3. Mid-Autumn Festival is around the corner. Although the city government will be effectively closed during the holiday, a handful of departments will remain open to the public, including the Police Department, Bureau of Transportation, Fire Bureau, and departments involved in epidemic prevention. The city government has maintained sufficient rapid-testing capacity during the holidays. Colleagues may undergo rapid testing as needed to ensure their safety and the safety of our citizens.

1. The Cultural Affairs Bureau's report on the 2021 Tainan International Music Festival(refer to written sources for details)
Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor’s remarks:
I want to thank Director-General Yeh and the colleagues of the Cultural Affairs Bureau for their hard work in organizing the Tainan International Music Festival. This year will mark the first-ever International Music Festival to be held in Tainan. As Taiwan's cultural capital, Tainan hosts a variety of events and exhibitions ranging from art and literature to paintings and sculptures. Nonetheless, a traditional and formal event such as the International Music Festival is a first for the city. I look forward to the participation of many outstanding domestic and international musicians. Due to the pandemic, this year's event will focus primarily on Taiwanese musicians. I have complete confidence that the event will be a historic moment for our city. The city government has scheduled many similar events in the near future. Music festival tickets will go on sale starting September 25. I welcome everyone to Tainan and share in the festivities of the 2021 Tainan International Music Festival.
2. The Tourism Bureau's report on the 2021 Guanziling Hot Spring Festival(refer to written sources for details)
Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor’s remarks:
(1) This year marks the 17th anniversary of the Guanziling Hot Spring Festival. Looking back at how the festival has evolved, we find that although hot springs are resistant to change, forming strategies for improving hot spring facilities and service quality is imperative to provide visitors with the best possible experiences while attracting new visitors to Fucheng. We are still able to provide safe travel options to visitors amid a pandemic. Therefore, I look forward to the exciting new content that the Guanziling Hot Spring Festival will bring and the visitors it will receive.
(2) In the last few days, crowds have started to appear at various tourist attractions in Fucheng. It appears that we are returning to pre-pandemic volumes. We must strive to maintain this momentum while complying with epidemic prevention requirements. Another outbreak would inevitably impact all industries. I implore that the citizens of Tainan closely follow epidemic prevention regulations so that we may provide the best possible tourism services amid a pandemic. I thank the Tourism Bureau for its efforts in relevant matters.
