Minutes of Tainan City Government’s 529th Municipal Administrative Meeting 2/15/2022

Mayor's Remarks:
Today is Lantern Festival. The municipal government has stipulated regulations for the Yanshuei Beehive Firework Festival. I ask the Police Department, Public Health Bureau, Bureau of Civil Affairs, and Environmental Protection Bureau to maintain a danger-free and COVID-safe environment during the festival. I'd also like to thank the temples in advance for cooperating by canceling the temple parades and scaling back the festival's scope. Our priority is to keep the attendees safe and healthy. I urge attendees to follow epidemic prevention measures and the real-name registration system, thereby preventing any outbreaks in the city.
Announcements
1.    The Bureau of Economic Development's report on Tainan's business recruitment outcome (refer to written sources for details)
Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor's Remarks:
Ranking second out of the six municipalities in Taiwan, the growth in Tainan's business recruitment is evident. These positive results should be shared externally to prevent misunderstandings or bad impressions. Recently, certain politicians have criticized Tainan's infrastructure. Together, we should take this criticism with humility and work on improving the city's infrastructure.
2.    The Tourism Bureau's report on the outcome and prospects of marketing international travel (refer to written sources for details)
Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor's Remarks:
Tainan is a popular travel destination. During the height of the pandemic, Tainan was one of the few cities in Taiwan and in the world where tourism continued to grow. We should focus on improving travel quality and mitigating negative experiences that may stem from cultural differences or travel-related inconveniences, thereby ensuring that tourists can enjoy their trips uninterrupted.
