Minutes of Tainan City Government’s 532nd Municipal Administrative Meeting 3/8/2022

Announcements
1.    The Agriculture Bureau’s report on the avian flu prevention program
Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor’s remarks:
Avian flu is nothing new. Taiwan first experienced an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza simultaneously with cases of foot-and-mouth disease, which caused great concern among farmers. Ten years have passed since Taiwan experienced its first avian flu outbreak. By now, we have developed a greater understanding of how to prevent avian flu and how to implement safety equipment at poultry farms. We should also focus on educating poultry farmers on maintaining the safety and health standards at poultry farms, thereby reducing the risk of infection, minimizing economic losses, and preventing negative impacts on the poultry market. I ask the Agriculture Bureau to implement appropriate prevention measures.
1.    The Economic Development Bureau’s report on counseling businesses that have yet to register with the authorities (refer to written sources for details)
Decision: Approved for reference filing
Mayor’s remarks:
(1) Encouraging businesses to get registered is a nationwide policy. I would like to thank the Economic Development Bureau for sharing the results of counseling businesses that had yet to become registered with the government by May 20, 2016. I ask the Economic Development Bureau to inspect and manage illegal factories or ones that were established after May 20, 2016, but remain unregistered. Please also keep an eye on factories that are currently being built.
(2) The deadline for business registration is May 19. I urge the Economic Development Bureau to continue counseling unregistered factories that meet registration standards and encourage these businesses to become registered.
