Major’s Remarks:
1. The Lunar New Year holiday, with its extended consecutive days off, is fast approaching. All colleagues are encouraged to expedite tasks within their respective jurisdictions. During the holiday period, many colleagues from the Police, Fire, Civil Affairs, Public Works, and Water Resources Bureaus will forgo their holidays to take part in rotation shifts and remain at their posts to serve the public. On behalf of the city’s residents and visitors, I would like to express heartfelt gratitude for their dedication.
2. The Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadiums and Training Centers are currently in the final inspection and acceptance stage, and we eagerly anticipate their successful completion. In the future, the Tainan City Government will make full use of these facilities to promote baseball events and ensure that public funds are used responsibly.
3. The "Tainan City Yongkang District Chenggong Village Multi-Story Parking Lot and the North District Chengde Village Four-Story Parking Lot Construction Projects (Turnkey Contracts)" have experienced delays due to the contractors' lagging progress. The Transportation Bureau is requested to impose fines in accordance with the contractual provisions. Regarding the commercial spaces, efforts to attract investors may begin ahead of schedule. When seeking investors for childcare centers and parent-child activity centers, the rental rates should be set based on market prices.

Mayor’s Comments:
(1) The Lunar New Year holiday spans nine days, during which a large influx of visitors is expected to arrive in the city, providing a significant boost to the revenue of local businesses and shops. We extend our gratitude to the Transportation Bureau for collaborating with central government agencies, including the Freeway Bureau and the Highway Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, to implement an effective traffic diversion plan for the holiday. This ensures that both residents and visitors from other counties and cities can experience optimal transportation services when traveling to and from the city.
(2) This year, Tainan City has specially planned shuttle buses for three routes serving the Anping District, which attracts a large number of tourists even during regular holidays. We encourage visitors planning to explore Anping and celebrate the Lunar New Year to utilize the website and app for up-to-date information. Additionally, roadside parking spaces and off-street parking lots requiring manual ticketing will be free of charge from Lunar New Year's Eve to the third day of the Lunar New Year. The public is invited to take full advantage of this service.
2. The Police Bureau presented a report on the "Traffic Diversion Measures for the 2025 Lunar New Year Holiday Period" (refer to written sources for details).
Resolution: Approved for reference filing.
Mayor’s Comments:
(1) The Transportation Bureau has developed the Lunar New Year traffic diversion plan, with the Police Bureau taking responsibility for its implementation. Both bureaus are asked to collaborate closely to ensure effective traffic management. Volunteer traffic officers and auxiliary police are also encouraged to embody the spirit of community service by assisting with traffic diversions at intersections, ensuring that citizens and tourists traveling to and from the city experience smooth and convenient transportation. Public security operations will continue uninterrupted throughout the Lunar New Year holiday period, with the goal of creating a city that is both safe and easy to navigate. Let us work together to achieve this.
(2) Many road projects are currently underway. Please make every effort to complete them before the end of the year. For projects that cannot be completed on time, the relevant bureaus and departments are urged to prioritize worksite safety. This includes ensuring adequate nighttime signals and clear safety signage to protect pedestrians and vehicles, ensuring the safe passage of pedestrians and vehicles while preventing unintended entry by the public or traffic accidents.
