1. The municipal government is happy to see that Tainan Art Museum’s recent exhibit, Ghosts and Hells: The underworld in Asian art, has garnered national attention and boosted the number of visitors to Tainan City. However, the extreme popularity of this exhibition has made the museum very crowded. Tainan Art Museum is a private entity and not affiliated with the municipal government. That being said, concerned departments should assist the museum in maintaining order, because we have a duty to uphold the image of Tainan City. Yesterday (27th), the deputy mayor convened a meeting with concerned departments and Tainan Art Museum to coordinate. I ask all departments to work with Tainan Art Museum in ensuring a smooth exhibition. Please treat this exhibition as a municipal event and spare no effort in assisting Tainan Art Museum. By doing so, we can ensure that visitors will be left with a great impression of Tainan.
2. Although the number of COVID-19 cases has decreased lately, we must not let our guard down. In addition to offering an NTD $500 coupon and rapid test kit as incentives for senior citizens to get vaccinated, raffles have also been announced for senior citizens over the age of 65. Any older adult that meets the age criterion may enter raffles when receiving their third and fourth shot. I encourage everyone to spread this information to senior citizens and inform them that in addition to safeguarding their health, getting vaccinated also means that they can receive rewards and enter raffles. This should increase older adults’ willingness to get vaccinated.
3. I ask the Water Resources Bureau to accelerate the progress of the drainage improvement construction project along Section 1, Bao-an Road in Rende District. Let’s hope that the project is completed before any floods occur. I’d like to thank the Water Resources Bureau for its hard work, and I urge the Water Resources Bureau and Public Works Bureau to ensure proper maintenance work for extant construction facilities.

Compared to previous years, this year’s Summer Vacation Teenager Protection Program has a series of exciting events. Although the events are held over summer vacation, schools have been asked to provide support to help plan activities for teenagers. The number of events this year is 148, nearly double compared with last year. I ask the Bureau of Education to assist the Police Department in ensuring that these events are carried out smoothly.

(1) The Cigu Seafood Festival is one of the most iconic tourism events in Tainan. The festival includes a series of events: (1) Clam digging—we must ensure public safety and prevent injuries or drownings; Please also ensure convenience by setting up portable toilets. Epidemic prevention measures must be implemented throughout the event. (2) The Cigu Banquet—All food must be thoroughly cooked. Avoid serving uncooked food as this may lead to food poisoning. I ask the Tourism Bureau to improve this year's events based on public feedback and criticism that we received last year.
(2) To promote local tourism and the local economy, stands should highlight local characteristics. Also, we should collaborate with young farmers to promote small businesses. Concerned bureaus should layout routes and make arrangements for maintaining traffic. The Cigu Seafood Festival is a highlight among Tainan’s many tourism events. Let’s work together to further improve the quality of this event and boost the post-pandemic economy.
