The 2025 Tainan is Young New Year’s Eve Concert took place on the evening of December 31, 2024, in the West Plaza of Yonghua Civic Center, and 18 groups of artists were invited to perform. Baseball coach Lin Yueh-Ping, baseball players Kao Chih-kang, Kuo Jun-lin, Pan Jie-kai, and Lin An-ko as well as U12 champion player Lin Wei-yan all showed up at the event. They counted down to the new year with Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che, the city government team, the city council team, Legislator Chen Ting-fei, and an enthusiastic audience of 25,000 people, then 2025 was officially heralded in with a 180-second firework show.
Mayor Huang was very happy to see so many friends here in Tainan for New Year’s Eve and said that the energy of the jubilant crowd helped warm up the cold weather. He also mentioned that Tainan had an amazing year in 2024 because it was the year of Tainan 400 and expressed his joy of enjoying a wonderful concert with good friends during the last few hours of 2024.
According to the Mayor, the Tainan is Young Christmas and New Year & Eve Festivities Series has become a well-known event of the city. The government team reads all messages posted on the city government’s Facebook page recommending their favorite artists for the concerts, making the yearly event something to look forward to. Finally, Mayor Huang thanked everyone for their enthusiastic support and participation and hopes to see everyone at next year’s Tainan is Young Christmas and New Year & Eve Festivities.
